Bartender: Maroma-rita

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Today, I am bringing you one of my favorite drink recipes - a Maroma-rita! If you've never heard of a Maroma-rita before, it's probably because my clever husband coined the name :). We got married last April and spent weeks trying to figure out what the 'signature drink' at our wedding would be. We both enjoy tequila and were looking forward to our honeymoon in Maroma Beach, Mexico... so a margarita seemed like a natural fit! In order to spice up the name a bit, we dubbed our signature cocktail the 'Maroma-rita'.

With ingredients like raspberry liqueur and cranberry juice, this isn't your everyday margarita.  We took inspiration from a 'purple margarita' recipe in hopes of incorporating our wedding color scheme into our cocktail. The bartenders at our wedding were able to work some magic with fresh fruit in order to give our Maroma-rita a nice purple hue...however my at-home version is not so purple.  I promise it's still delicious!

What you'll need:

  • 1.5 oz Sweet & Sour Mix
  • 1 oz Sweetened Lime Juice
  • 1.5 oz Cranberry Juice
  • 2 oz Tequila
  • 2 oz Raspberry Liqueur

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake your heart out!

In hindsight, I'd recommend chilling your ingredients first, so the drink is nice and cool.  Pour over ice and enjoy! You could add some frozen raspberries for a special touch.

Hope you enjoy! These past few weeks have been crazy busy, so I am looking forward to enjoying a Maroma-rita of my own this weekend.
